Creme Egg Ride by Kirsten

The cream oozed out of the chocolate brown shell,
The creamy mixture plummeted over the edge to the floor like Niagara Falls.
The men worked furiously at the scene,
Trying to figure out the details of what happened.
The crack got bigger every second as the downpour got heavier and heavier as more cream overflowed.
One work man found out the ‘thing’ was fun,
It was just like a water slide.
The cones at the bottom of ‘it’ were then removed,
The work men then left too.
And that’s where I’ll leave this story,
As the cream egg now a family attraction,
With lots of fun included in the price,
The ‘thing’ is now a water slide,
For everyone to ride!

Food of the Gods by Aimee, Isabelle and Jack

Aimee
If I were to be on a desert for a long time, when I would get home, my starter would be halloumi because it is my favourite food. My main meal would be beans on toast and my dessert would be apple strudel or apple and cranberry pie. My drink would be Fanta or coke or maybe both. Usually, when I get home from school I would ask, “What is for dinner?”
I would not survive a day without proper food! It would feel like heaven eating it. I would have butterflies in my tummy. Yummy!!
The only thing I would have to eat on the island would be dead things like dead bugs and insects. The only thing I would be able to drink would be either water from a damp rock or rain water. Eww… from the ground as well. I love any type of crumble for an example apple crumble, rhubarb crumble etc.
Isabelle
Pizza makes feel happy because it reminds me of a luxurious holiday. I love pizza because when it comes of the oven it smells like heaven on tray. I could eat pizza all day! When my parent ask me what I want for tea, can you guess what I say? “PIZZA!” but they say no. my favourite pizza restaurant is pizza hut because they make all sorts of pizza.
My favourite dessert is chocolate cake because in my opinion a life without chocolate is a very boring life. I love it when chocolate cake has icing in between the sponges because the butter icing is usually sweet.
Chocolate cake and pizza are not what I have all the time. Although I do love them both so much I would never be able to eat them all the time
Jack
I have been stranded on this god-for-saken island for too long. Finally a rescue ‘copter has appeared, when they picked me up they said that I could have any food I wanted, more specifically I could have a starter the main course and a desert.
I chose for the starter, a massive bowl of chicken nuggets, a bunch of bananas chopped up in a bowl and two slices of watermelon.
For the main course I had a vegetable dinner more specifically; carrots, peas, mashed potato, sausages and stuffing all smothered in gravy.
For desert I had even more stuffing in a bowl, a massive bowl of strawberry ice-cream with strawberry sauce and two flakes.

Food of the gods - introduction.

After reading the following extract from David Almond's 'Skellig' we have been writing our own versions of the food of the gods.

“Aspirin,” I said. “And number 27 and 53. Spring rolls and pork char sui.”
He laughed but he didn’t smile.
“Not as stupid as you look,” he squeaked.
I held the take-out tray across the tea chests toward him. He took it in his hand but he started to wobble and I had to take it back again.

“No strength,” he squeaked.
I squeezed between the tea chests. I squatted down beside him. I held the tray up and shined the light onto the food. He dipped his finger in. He licked his finger and groaned. He stuck his finger in again and hooked a long slimy string of bean sprouts and sauce. He stuck his tongue out and licked. He slurped out pieces of pork and mushrooms. He shoved the spring rolls into his mouth. The red sauce trickled down from his lips, down over his chin onto his black jacket.
“Aaaah,” he said. “Ooooooh.”
He sounded like he was loving it, or he was in pain, or both those things together. I held the tray closer to his chin. He dipped and licked and groaned.
His fingers were twisted and stunted. His knuckles were swollen.
“Put the aspirin in,” he said.
I put two aspirin in the sauce and he picked them out and swallowed them.
He belched and belched. His hand slipped to his side again. His head slumped back against the wall.
“Food of the gods,” he whispered. “27 and 53.”

I’ve been stranded on this island for ten years now. Finally, the rescue team has come to their senses, I’m saved. It took them long enough. One of the people on the rescue helicopter said “I bet you’re tired from eating worms, flies and insects”.
“I am…” I replied.
“Well you’re in luck, luckily for you, you can have anything food you want!” You can have a s a main only, choose wisely. I was thinking, oh baby this is gonna be great. It took me a while to think of my favourite main.
Finally I thought of a main I wanted a lasagna with extra cheese. I told the nice gentlemen, he said coming right up. When it finally came here I smelt it, it smelt cheesy and steamy. I could hear it sizzling. When I finally ate it, my taste buds danced around as the combo of meat, cheese and sauce slipped down my throat. It tasted like heaven. And that was enough for me.

My food of the gods is lasagna. When it comes out of the oven and it smells like heaven in a dish. Dad always asks me “What would you like for tea?” and I always reply “LASAGNA!” It’s warm and gooey in your mouth and the pasta burns my tongue but its worth it for the luxurious taste of melting cheese! The cheesy sauce melts on your tongue as you chew on the dried up parts. I lift my fork in the air and watch the cheese melt and slip through the slits in my fork. I love the warm gooey taste I get to keep after the meal; although when I’m finished, I want more!

My favourite food is pizza and mac n cheese. I love this food together,
I love these things together because I love both of them separately. The texture from the pizza is soft and crunchy; the Mac n Cheese is a soft and squishy consistency. When my mum says we’re having pizza n chips I ask, “Can we have pizza and mac n cheese?” The smell is cheesy, “I can’t wait until it is done.” When I eat it I love the taste of it when it is put in my mouth. This is my favourite food.

My food of the gods is spaghetti and meatballs - it is nice to eat, it tastes like a big chunk of meat and the spaghetti is slimy and easy to eat. I love it, if someone asked me what do you want for dinner I would say this meal. If someone asked me how it felt I would say it feels soft in my mouth. I don’t know why the meatball feels soft but I just go with it. And also I can not hear anything apart from the fork hitting the bowl and me breathing.

If I was stranded on an island for a week and I had to go without any food, as soon as I got back home I would get my mother to cook me my favourite three course dinner!

For my starter I would have mozzarella sticks with tomato sauce and a side of salad. For my main I would have: pizza with ham cheese and pineapple and a side of skinny fries. For desert I would have: Donuts with chocolate sauce and chocolate sprinkles, then I would have some strawberry delight.
Smell
· I would be able to smell the gooey cheese inside the bread crumbs.
· I would be able to smell the tomato pure on the pizza
· I would be able to smell the donuts and the strawberry angle delight.
Taste
· I would be able to taste the melted cheese, bread crumbs, tomato sauce and all the different kinds of salad.
· I would be able to taste the pizza and the juicy chips.
· I would be able to taste the squishiness of the donuts and the taste of the strawberry delight.

When I get home (after being stranded on a desert island) if my mum asked me, “What would you like for your dinner?” I would say for my starter I would like tiger bread and butter. When I bite into it I taste a crunch then a smooth soft creamy butter. For my dinner I would like penne pasta with smooth creamy tomato pasta sauce (with no bits). For my pudding I would like a double chocolate brownie mousse. When it enters my mouth I taste soft creamy bubbly mousse. It melts in my mouth. Yummy.

A take-away from Gandhi is my food of the gods because it makes me feel so happy. If I was stranded on an island I would defiantly order a meal from Gandhi because it tastes so good and it fills me straight up.

What I would order:

Drink- J2O and Fanta.

Starter- Poppadoms with the onion salad.

Main- Chicken korma pilau.

Pudding- profiteroles with dark chocolate sauce.

My favourite question to be asked is, “What do you want for dinner?” and my answer always is Gandhi.
