Author Letter - Samuel

Dear David Walliams,

I am writing to you to say a few things. Your books inspire me and I love reading them. Your books have such good description like no other author’s books, they bring humour to people that read your books and I'm sure they’ll agree. The books are so interesting and they always give me an image in my head. But my questions are that, where did you get the inspiration from? Where you brought up by books? Are you much like your characters?

I have 3 of your books and my favourite one is (The Midnight Gang). This is because I love the characters in it and the description is just breathtaking. My favourite character is Tom because he was desperate to get in the gang and desperate to stay at the hospital just so he can play with the gang. He's also funny and brings humour to the book and that’s why it’s my favourite.

The Lost Thing Meets the Boy by Sam

I remember when I was just chilling on the beach and everybody was disregarding me. Until a boy came up I thought he would just walk past me but I was wrong. He found my bell and resonated it. As he walked round me I was thinking about trusting him or not and then he gave me a funny look. He walked back in front of me then he punched my stomach it hurt a little then he shouted and that tickled. I figured that I could trust him so I powered myself up and he took two steps back. I thought he was scared of me so I gave him my beach ball and we started playing with each other. We played fetch he showed me his bottle cap collection we even made a sandy castle! But then a bell rang and we had to go.

Fantastic Creature by Samuel

Walking gracefully along the grass,
Whoever saw him did a gasp.
Flying peacefully in the sky,
Looking for massacre every time.
Every time he attempts to fit in,
He gets put in the foul timeworn bin.
