The Commentator by Stuart

Good afternoon and welcome,
This is Stuart  your commentator,
Welcoming you to this grudge match,
Between slide and monkey bars.

The location is 123 Playground Street.
And the pitch is in perfect condition
As Lil’ Timmy prepares
To kick off for the slides;
And this large crowd roars
As Lil’ Timmy, the slides captain,
Puts slides on the attack.

Straight away its Lil’ Timmy,
With an amazing pass to Big Jim,
Big Jim back to Lil’ Timmy,
Lil Timmy in possession now,
Moving swiftly past the swing
And a high flick over the climbing frame.
What a brilliant player Lil’ Timmy is
And only 756 years old!

Lil’ Timmy to Jeremy Windows,
Jeremy Windows passes it through
Lil’ Timmy is through…
No! he’s been tackled by the monkey bars;
But he easily gets it back,
He’s pushing onto the monkey bars again,
It’s a 1v1 situation
GOAL, Lil Timmy scored!
But wait, the kids are here…

Zach and Willie's Adventure by Stuart

There was a knock on the door, “Willie, Zacharias is here!” Tom shouted.
“You can call me Zach,” he replied.
Willie was so excited to play with Zach again; he still couldn’t believe that he had a friend to play with.
Willie and Zach were playing tig and also playing fetch with the dog. Suddenly, Zach had an idea, he could teach Willie how to ride a bike. He went to get two bikes, one for him and one for William. “Its proper easy,” Zach said, but Willie wasn’t too sure about that considering that he had never been on one before.
“In a few seconds Willie is going to sit on a bike for the first time,” Zach said in a commentator’s voice, “5 4 3 2 1, and he’s on. He hasn’t pushed the pedals yet, but he likes it so far.” Zach held onto the back of the bike while Willie rode.
He was having the time of his life. Then, Zach let go, “Am I doing well?” Willie asked.
“You’re doing great,” said a voice in the distance. Willie turned around and saw Zach at the other side of the field, but instead of losing concentration or falling, he stayed on and loved it.
Zach got onto his bike and said, “Follow me,” so that’s what Willie did. “Remember about those German spies’ that disguised themselves as us?” Zach asked.
“Yeah,” Willie replied.
“I think that’s one of them, lets follow him.” Zach whispered. They abandoned their bikes and left a leaf trail so they could find their way back.
A few hours passed, and it was getting dark, “I think we should go back,” Zach said and Willie nodded. They went back to their leaf trail, it was working until it just faded and disappeared. They kept going until they got to these three paths and didn’t know what to do. Instead of trying to go for a lucky guess, they chose the dumb idea and followed the spy some more. It was getting darker by the minute but the boys were only focused on the spy. He was strolling into this strange field, “Where is he goi…” Zach was interrupted by a loud sound of a helicopter that the man hopped in. “I knew he was a sp…” Zach was interrupted by Willie this time.
“He works as a medic in the war.”
They were heading back to the three paths completely forgetting about the leaf trail. As soon as they put one foot forward they heard rustling in the leaves. They looked and saw bushes moving so they went to investigate. They approached the bush to see there was nothing there. Then, it was just pitch black for them.
They woke up with a bag over their head and were tied up wriggling for their lives. They screamed but duct tape was on their mouths. They heard a strange voice say, “Look who has finally woken up.” The kidnappers took the bag off of Willie and Zach’s head. They were 11 year olds, that had kidnapped Willie and Zach. Willie was trying to talk so they finally took the duct tape off. “Where is Zach?”  Willie shouted.
“Oh that other wimp, bring him through!” and there Zach was, all tied up.
It was getting late so the 11 year olds were getting tired so they went to sleep in a locked up room. Zach was getting so worried but Willie remembered what his dad taught him if anything like this happened so he did it. They twisted the chairs around and shuffled closer to each other. He rubbed his rope against Zach’s and boom the rope broke. Willie untied his feet and then untied zach.

Food of the Gods by Stuart

My favourite food is pizza. The fantastic sound of the doorbell ringing at teatime means we are having takeaway and most likely pizza!
When I have pizza I always get the biggest slice before my sister comes down to STEAL it! She sometimes even steals it when it’s in my hand but I always get it back, always. I normally eat the whole thing if my sister doesn’t first it’s like a battle who can eat the most pizza. Pizza is like the food of the gods. When I smell it and open the box it looks like heaven. Me and my sister battle for the last slice we both say, “I want it!” then my mum says, "Split it.”
At the end I just hope we have another soon. I could just imagine the smell, the taste, the sound and the looks. I also wonder what it is like to create my own pizza. I like ham then margarita then pepperoni pizza in order. Whenever I go somewhere and I see they have pizza I don’t look at anything else just pizza. If they don’t then…

Michael’s Midnight Mission by Stuart

As fast as lightning, I sat up gasping for air. Beads of sweat rolled down my face as I shuffled out of bed. I thought I was in Antarctica, the air was freezing! As I froze to death, I tiptoed out of my room. Then I heard dad snoring and the baby’s breath rattling like a rattle snakeAs I headed to the bathroom I heard a thud. It was my dad falling out of bed. I hid and I had an excuse. Then, a few minutes later I grabbed the aspirin jar and…

I tiptoed downstairs; I could hear the aspirin jingling in my pocket. My heart raced as I tiptoed away. I tried to make as least noise as I could but also rushing so I didn’t get caught. All of a sudden, the stair started creaking. Holding my breath, I waited for the noise to stop. I grabbed the key and walked over to the door I proceeded to open the door. Then I saw the jungle that my parents called a garden.

Crazily, I explored the garden. I dropped the aspirin in front of the shed so I new where it was at all times. Without taking a step I saw bushes with caterpillars. I took a few more steps and saw rats eating the 27 and 53 so I grabbed it and scared the rats away. Fortunately the street lights were on and I could see perfectly. I could see the leaves, branches and a tree dancing in the wind .There was a trail of something so I followed it and it lead me to a bush. It had thistles so I looked through and saw a group of birds in their nest feeding their babies. They did their danger call like I was danger. I stepped back and tripped over a stone. Then I heard my dad opening the door so I hid around the corner. Then I figured that he was sleep walking so lucky me. I headed through the bushes and thistles and got to the shed it felt like hours but it was 10 seconds. Then I realise I forgot the 27 and 53 so I go back and forth and put the key softly into the hole and…

Eventually, I reached the shed and there were bluebottles, centipedes, spiders and much more creepy little bugs. Before I put the key in the lock I thought, should I really do this? I mean he did save me so. I put the key in the hole and it wouldn’t budge so I tried harder and broke it open. Tentativly, I stepped in.

The Best Day Ever by Clara, Stuart and Darcie

“Well, this is disappointing,” huffed Mum, staring at the dreadful room. The walls were encrusted with dirt. The estate agent was driving away, while shouting “You can move in today!” Dad rolled his eyes. Upstairs, the house was no better. The bathroom had horrible bright green tiles, no bath, and a trickling shower. A cracked toilet looked like it could fall apart at any second. Jerry and Stephanie’s rooms were exactly the same size (they were very small). Henry (the dog) whined at the depressing, ripped-up dog bed.
The next day, after a very uncomfortable night’s sleep, Mum and Dad set about repainting the house. Jerry and Stephanie took Henry for a walk (they were extremely bored). While Mum and Dad were taking off the previous paint, they discovered a secret oak-panelled door. “That’s odd…” exclaimed Dad. They tried to open the door, but it wouldn’t budge.
When Stephanie, Jerry and Henry arrived home, Mum and Dad showed them the door. They thought it was really suspicious, and Jerry was terrified. Stephanie sighed, grabbed the door-handle, and pushed it. It opened with a loud click. Gasping in wonder, they looked at the magnificence of its contents…
The door opened into an amazing room, it was a parallel version of their own house, only much more luxurious. There were at least twenty diamond-encrusted phones lying on the grand table. “Wow!” screamed the children, rushing to grab a phone each. Ancient tapestries decorated the pastel blue walls. “I call the biggest bedroom!” shouted Stephanie and Jerry, sprinting upstairs.
All bedrooms were the same size (the size of the other house). “I have a pink laptop,” exclaimed Stephanie, “And it is the latest version.” The walls were wallpapered with light pink roses. She had her own bathroom, with hot pink towels. White shelves held all the things she most wanted: bags full of make-up, five brand-new pairs of high heels and one million pounds worth of jewellery.

Meanwhile, in Jerry’s bedroom, posters of Star Wars characters hung everywhere. Even his bed had a duvet cover of a Stormtrooper. Jerry had a dark blue laptop, with a screen cover of the Star Wars sign. In his wardrobe was a Yoda costume designed for Henry (their husky). Gazing in wonder at the priceless Star Wars figurines, Jerry called out to his family, “This is the best room ever!” Mum and Dad knew at that moment, they were going to make a lot of memories there.

The Midnight Sky by Carter and Stuart

The Midnight Sky
From an eye of a person
To the pattern on some wood,
With a spiral circling the pupil of an eye
The pupil is black as the midnight sky.
