The Commentator by Darcie

Hello ladies and gentlemen
This is your host, Jack Maynard coming live from KS2 Showjumping 2018.
The first show-jumper will be Millie and Euro,
they will be performing in a couple of minutes but first lets talk about their past.
Euro is a 15.2hh stallion,
he is a cob crossed with a welsh pony.
Millie got Euro 3 years ago and they have been training ever since.
Millie has been riding for 11 years and this is the 15th time she has show-jumped.
1 year ago Millie was in a race with Euro and he threw her at the jump,
but she never gave up on him.

Now its time for the show!!

Here comes Euro!!
Millie and Euro are trotting around the arena when a pigeon flies out in front of the poor horse.
He doesn't care.
He carries on when he comes up to the jump and does it perfectly.
The next jump is coming up.
Euro leaps and Millie stays on.
The last 3 jumps are coming up and Euro comes to them in canter.
Euro jumps the first jump
but dodges the second,
will he jump the third one?
Millie starts to panic.
Euro feels her tension and does a massive leap.
Millie clings on and is half off the poor thing.
She pulls herself up and walks Euro out.

Next up is Darcie and Cherry.
Cherry is a 13.5hh mare,
Her breed is a Cob.
Darcie got Cherry 5 years ago,
Darcie has been riding for 9 years.
Cherry has had spooks in the past,
But it didn't stop Darcie from riding her.
Time for her go!!

Cherry starts to canter,
She is heading for the 2 jumps
Cherry leaps the first jump
And jumps the second,
There are 4 more jumps
She has done 2 leaps so far!
She jumps the other jump perfectly and...

DARCIE WINS!!!!!!!!

Food of the Gods by Darcie

My food of the gods (AKA- My favourite food) is Sunday dinner and when my parents buy me an orange and passion fruit J2O, it’s DELICIOUS!! I really like the healthy stuff and the Yorkshire pudding that I get as well. Also, I don’t think anyone in my family could love Sunday dinner more than me; I love the fresh smell of the roast potatoes and carrots! Over my dinner I have gravy, not too much though.
After my tea, I normally have a chocolate sundae that tastes even better than my main course.
If Sunday dinner wasn’t a thing then I think I wouldn’t even be eating a thing! Yorkshire puddings are the best on Sunday dinners! If my mum didn’t buy me a chocolate sundae then I would prefer a cornflake tart with custard instead… But if food wasn’t a thing? OH NO THAT WOULD BE SO AWFUL!!
If a Sunday dinner was replaced with a barbeque then I would have sausages and a salad for pudding, it’s very tasty, but I would still have the J2O with my food as well.

The Best Day Ever by Clara, Stuart and Darcie

“Well, this is disappointing,” huffed Mum, staring at the dreadful room. The walls were encrusted with dirt. The estate agent was driving away, while shouting “You can move in today!” Dad rolled his eyes. Upstairs, the house was no better. The bathroom had horrible bright green tiles, no bath, and a trickling shower. A cracked toilet looked like it could fall apart at any second. Jerry and Stephanie’s rooms were exactly the same size (they were very small). Henry (the dog) whined at the depressing, ripped-up dog bed.
The next day, after a very uncomfortable night’s sleep, Mum and Dad set about repainting the house. Jerry and Stephanie took Henry for a walk (they were extremely bored). While Mum and Dad were taking off the previous paint, they discovered a secret oak-panelled door. “That’s odd…” exclaimed Dad. They tried to open the door, but it wouldn’t budge.
When Stephanie, Jerry and Henry arrived home, Mum and Dad showed them the door. They thought it was really suspicious, and Jerry was terrified. Stephanie sighed, grabbed the door-handle, and pushed it. It opened with a loud click. Gasping in wonder, they looked at the magnificence of its contents…
The door opened into an amazing room, it was a parallel version of their own house, only much more luxurious. There were at least twenty diamond-encrusted phones lying on the grand table. “Wow!” screamed the children, rushing to grab a phone each. Ancient tapestries decorated the pastel blue walls. “I call the biggest bedroom!” shouted Stephanie and Jerry, sprinting upstairs.
All bedrooms were the same size (the size of the other house). “I have a pink laptop,” exclaimed Stephanie, “And it is the latest version.” The walls were wallpapered with light pink roses. She had her own bathroom, with hot pink towels. White shelves held all the things she most wanted: bags full of make-up, five brand-new pairs of high heels and one million pounds worth of jewellery.

Meanwhile, in Jerry’s bedroom, posters of Star Wars characters hung everywhere. Even his bed had a duvet cover of a Stormtrooper. Jerry had a dark blue laptop, with a screen cover of the Star Wars sign. In his wardrobe was a Yoda costume designed for Henry (their husky). Gazing in wonder at the priceless Star Wars figurines, Jerry called out to his family, “This is the best room ever!” Mum and Dad knew at that moment, they were going to make a lot of memories there.

FEATHER ( BY TEGAN AND DARCIE)

Once there lay a dullish feather,
With a lifetime spirit,
Who would’ve thought in autumn,
You would find this very special merit.

This feather is long and thin,
With a dirty smooth texture,
It is black, white and grey,
But blacker than ever.
if you saw this you would feel sad

But you would never be mad
